Trogoderma variable
Most common of several species. Larvae is approximately 1/4 inch 6-8 mm.
Color varies from yellowish-white to brown and dark brown. Larva has two
types of hair-one type is slender with many short pointed hairs. There are
about 4,000 hairs on a larva, larval skins considered a dangerous
contaminant. The adult is brownish-black. About 1/8 inch long. Color
pattern as illustrated. The adult is considered a good flyer.
